The Hong Kong Coliseum's per-show minimum guarantee for local acts moved to HKD 1.8 million in January 2026, a 22 percent jump from the 2024 rate, closing the door on mid-tier Cantopop acts whose labels had been advancing tour support against declining physical royalties. KITEC caps at 3,500 seats and management agreements cap merch splits at 20 percent of net. The Saturday queue at the Hung Hom box office now runs to five names. Every other act reroutes.

Shenzhen Bay Sports Center and Cotai Arena have been offering below-market ground rent to HK-affiliated acts since Q4 2024, underwritten by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency's GBA integration directive, which was explicitly designed to pull HK entertainment capital across the border. A Shenzhen booking at 80 percent of Coliseum capacity generates roughly the same gross as a HK show at 60 percent. GBA audiences spend more per head. CCIDA's subsidy window closes June 30.

Strong. The CCIDA deadline does the work a dozen trend pieces never manage.-- WR
